Boring life of a Real Estate Attorney

Life of a real estate attorney can be quite boring. Doing a lot of routine paperwork attending boring home closings. Crossing every T and dotting every I. Anybody who purchased or sold a house can imagine how many document they had to sign in a real estate closing. With recent wave of frauds and robosigning, the amount of paperwork is now out of control.

To break for this boring routine, and generate new sources of revenue, the top rela estate attorneys in Lexington, KY jumped in the bandwagon. They became the specialized collectors of property tax liens. Paperwork is minimal and mostly prepared by paralegals.

Markets are not free since the payor of the attorney fees is not a homeowner but a rather captive audience. They never had the chance to shop around to get better fees. They either pay of the collectors will foreclose on their house.

Some of these attorneys are very well connected and known. For example, Virginia Lawson actually represented real estate agents and educator in kentucky board of Realtors. She now has an eye on your house.

Billy Sherrow is another vulture in the making. One day Justice will be served and these attorneys will lose their license for good.

Justice delayed. Justice denied.

  1. Doing the same thing over and over again can be boring but if you really love what you’re doing, then there’s no way you’ll get tired of it. Anyway, I just hope that you’ll stay with your profession and find a way to enjoy and provide service to those who need it.

  2. Just wondering how you think its fair not to pay your property taxes? Where is county/state government going to recieve funds to run the operations of the Government? For our schools, libraries, police, roads, and much more?

If you have such a problem with it, then you need to go to the courthouse pay everyone's tax bill.

Granted there are some companies that abuse this power, but thats what the court system is for.... for equity. Like in the Hinkle case.

But, others who charge reasonable fees to perform a title search (to make sure there is actually a property there to put a lien on) and to the record the lien and the ONE percent intrest a month on the face of bill, are doing the State of Kentucky a GREAT SERVICE!

Not to mention that these people have OVER A YEAR to pay their taxes before it is sold. And they can also setup a Payment Plan with the County Attorney before it is sold. On the payment plan they pay next to nothing each month!

Third Party Purchasers are giving the government the money they need now, in return for a small profit. With foreclosure as assurance that they will be paid back.

We live in America, we pay taxes on property...if you dont like it then get the hell out. And I will keep supporting our local firefighters, police, state road workers, a local government.

By being a Proud Third Party Purchaser!
